I guess there are some things you would like to know

    * Most P&S cameras are optimized to use NiMH rechargeable batteries (you can buy 4 with a charger for under $30)
    * Batteries are rated for the number of photos you can take, NOT how long you can leave it turned on
    * Energy management is key to getting the most out of your batteries.
    * The largest user of battery power are as follows: LCD, zoom motor, flash and auto-focus

Just so you know, while GE makes great toaster ovens and jet engines, it is NOT known for making quality cameras

This link has all the good cameras listed.

I suggest you return the GE and use the refund to buy one listed on the above link

Little P&S cameras take pretty reasonable photos as long as the light is perfect.
As you found out, when the light is no longer perfect, they can’t keep up.

As soon as you’re inside, you have less light. Your shutter needs to stay open longer to compensate, that is why the photos are blurry. In order to fix that, you need to get off the auto setting and raise the ISO. Sadly, that will also increase the digital “noise” in the photos.

The other option is to turn on lots of lights plus use a tripod as well as the self timer to stop the camera shake.

I can only use my brand new camera for about 5 minutes until the batteries die. My parents are getting really mad at me about it. What batteries could I use? And I was thinking about rechargeable ones. Would those be any better?

I have just bought a GE X5 Digital SLR style camera and every single picture I take turns out blurry. Even when I don’t even zoom in the picture still turns out blurry. I have to stay perfectly still and not move at all if I want to get a picture that isnt blurry. It is very hard to take a picture with not shaking at all. Does anyone have any idea how to not take blurry pictures with this camera? Thanks.

Whenever I have a question/problem such as yours, I read the user’s guide (aka “the manual”).
It is amazing just how much I always learn from that.

If that doesn’t help (or if I’m interested in a product I don’t own), I check the manufacturer’s website.
They have descriptions and specs for their gadgets, often have user forums, and the decent manufacturers all let you download the manuals in electronic form (so losing the book is no longer a problem).

99% of the time that does the trick.

GE digital camera. Uses brand new batteries in a matter of minutes?
I can only use my brand new camera for about 5 minutes until the batteries die. My parents are getting really mad at me about it. What batteries could I use? And I was thinking about rechargeable ones. Would those be any better?

Is is just me or does the GE x5 digital camera take blurry pictures?
I have just bought a GE X5 Digital SLR style camera and every single picture I take turns out blurry. Even when I don’t even zoom in the picture still turns out blurry. I have to stay perfectly still and not move at all if I want to get a picture that isnt blurry. It is very hard to take a picture with not shaking at all. Does anyone have any idea how to not take blurry pictures with this camera? Thanks.

How to use the self timer on my GE A1250 Digital Camera?
Well just like the title states I’d like to know how to use the self timer on my GE A1250 Digital Camera. I just bought it and I like the features so far but don’t know how to set the timer or what category it is under. Help on this, or adjusting an settings to get better picture quality (for indoor pictures mostly) would be appreciated. Thanks
